HDMI Resolution: The Difference between 1080P & 1080I

As we all know, there are various specifications of Video resolution such as 720p, 720i, 1080i and 1080p. However, the number is meaning the sizes of pixel. What does “I”&”P” meaning?
“I” and ”P” is different from the way of Scan.
The “I” means “Interlaced scanning”, The “P” means “progressive scanning”,
the Interlaced scanning is always better than progressive scanning.
So the best of them is 1080P.
1080P is also meaning:”Support the video resolution of 1920*1080 by Interlaced scanning”
